Though I don’t know how to start this tribute simply because I didn’t see this coming so soon and not even prepared to accept it, but I must write something.
Though we both came from Sanoyea, our friendship quickly grew beyond friendship to brotherhood. We respected and cared about each other. I was honored to have you stand in my wedding as it was a privilege for me to do the same for you. You loved Sanoyea so much that when we came for vacation in December of 2008, you convinced me to join you in organizing and sponsoring a grand homecoming after you heard that the development association (SADDA)was nonfunctional.
You never let me down, Barthan. Why now! You were always supportive of all that I chose to do. You shocked and broke my heart. My heart still bleeds and i know it will take me some time to unshackle. Barthan, why didn’t you give me a little more time to appreciate you publicly as I had promised you though you always waved it off.
Barthan I know you, you were strong; why did you succumb? But I know you fought but was overcome. Whatever situation that led to your sudden death…”God’s there and is in control”
As you take your rest my brother, kindly watch over Rb, the kids, Ma Mary and all of us. Greet our ancestors for me including my man, Richard Sondah.
You will always be missed, Barthan
